What’s in a name?
When it comes to a cherished pet, a name means a lot. And there are some creative ones out there.
Rover, the world’s largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers, recently released a list of the most common U.S. dog names for 2022.
The Top Five common boy dog names are:
- Max
- Charlie
- Cooper
- Milo
- Buddy
The Top Five common girl dog names are:
- Luna
- Bella
- Daisy
- Lucy
- Lily
Rover has been compiling dog name lists for 10 years. On their website, rover.com, you can see the full national list, as well as lists by state and by large cities. You can even see what names were inspired by celebrities, musicians, sports and more.
Interestingly, Rover releases a list of “Top Trending Dog Names of 2022”. The top five are:
- Fezco
- Cassini
- Mossberg
- Mirabel
- Kyna
The trending list suggests people are getting more creative with their pet names. Our particular favorite might by “Federico,” which came in at #9!
